Embu Water and Sanitation Company (EWASCO) Limited was incorporated as a company by Embu Municipal Council in March 2003. The Company became operational in March 2005 and the financial operations of the Company were separated from those of the Municipal Council in July 2005. After devolution the Company is wholly owned by the Embu County Government. Water supply network coverage in 2005 was 23 km2 out of 80 km2(29% coverage) and has increased to 775 km2 in 2017 out of 975 km2(79.5% coverage). However, the total area presumed to be under EWASCO is approximately 1,200 sq. km

Reporting to the Administration and Logistics Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for to coordinate provision of security of all Company assets and Company property.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise duties performed by Assistant Security Officers.
Operational Responsibilities
Implement security services, practices, and procedures across Company premises.
Secure premises and personnel by patrolling, monitoring CCTV, inspecting buildings, equipment, exits, doors, and windows, ensuring closure after operations.
Develop and enforce standard operating procedures for incident reporting and response.
Liaise with law enforcement on suspected or reported criminal activities.
Lead investigations and follow-up on cases involving loss of Company property.
Plan, coordinate, and continuously monitor security operations, including weekly security checks at satellite offices.
Examine gate registers to monitor and control traffic flow.
Investigate individuals suspected of suspicious activities and prevent losses by reporting irregularities and restraining trespassers.
Maintain accurate security and safety data records in both electronic and physical formats.
Respond promptly to emergencies to assist employees and customers.
Represent the Company in court proceedings related to security matters.
Oversee and ensure outsourced security firms perform their duties effectively.
Assist in managing security incidents, including handling offenders as necessary.
Prepare and submit detailed security reports as required.
Engage in continuous professional development to remain current with security industry trends.

Bachelor’s degree in Criminology or its equivalent
At least 6 years relevant working experience
