SECURITY GUARD

Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION The Security Guard is responsible for providing visible security presence and protecting life, property, and premises assigned by the Employer or its clients in accordance with the Private Security Regulation Act, 2016, and company policies. Key duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting regular foot patrols of the assigned premises to detect and deter unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, fire, or other security breaches.
  
• Monitoring and controlling access points: verifying identification of persons entering/exiting, maintaining visitor logs, and issuing passes where required.
  
• Observing and reporting suspicious activities, incidents, or hazards promptly to the supervisor, control room, or relevant authorities.
  
• Enforcing company and client security rules, including search procedures (where authorized), crowd control, and traffic management within the premises.
  
• Responding to emergencies, or incidents, including providing first response, assisting in evacuation if necessary, and coordinating with police or emergency services. 
  
• Assist visitors, staff, and clients courteously while maintaining security protocols.
  
• Maintaining personal appearance, uniform, and equipment in good condition as per company standards.
  
• Upholding confidentiality regarding client information, security arrangements, and any incidents observed.
  
• Attending mandatory training sessions on security procedures, first aid, fire safety, conflict management, and any PSRA-required refresher courses.
  
• Performing static guarding (post duty) or shift-based duties as assigned, including day, night, weekend, or public holiday shifts.
  
• Cooperating with law enforcement and regulatory authorities when required.
  
• Any other lawful security-related duties reasonably assigned by the Employer.
  

Requirements

Qualifications 

• Must be a Kenya citizen with a valid National ID.
  
• Minimum of KCSE certificate D plain.
  
• Minimum height should be 5.6” and above preferably men aged between 30 – 35 years.
  
• Ability to read and write in English and Kiswahili.
  
• Good physical fitness with clear vision, hearing and no serious medical conditions.
  
• Good communication skills.
  
• Discipline, integrity and professional appearance.
  
• Previous experience in a security, military or police service.
  
• No previous criminal record
  

REQUIREMENTS

• Application letter addressed to the management.
  
• Original & copy of National ID, KCSE certificate.
  
• CV/Resume.
  
• 2 Passport photos.
  
• Statutory documents i.e. NSSF, SHA & KRA.
  
• Original chief/ assistant chief’s letter on letter head and as per your ID location/sub-location.
  
• Letters from two credible and working class guarantors, their ID copies and proof of work place i.e. rubber stamp/letter head/ work ID card or any other relevant documentation.
  
• Any other document that may be applicable
  
• A pair of black shoes.
