## Job Description

Medical Jobs, Nairobi Waldorf School Jobs. School Nurse – Locum manages student health and first aid, requires a Nursing Diploma/Degree and valid license. Full-time role in Nairobi.

Purpose: To provide safe, professional and responsive nursing care to students and staff, and to support the school in maintaining a healthy, safe and supportive environment.

### Key Responsibilities

- Provide first aid, respond to medical emergencies, and ensure students receive appropriate care or referral when necessary.

- Conduct basic health assessments and screening, identify potential health concerns early, and recommend appropriate follow-up.

- Educate students on hygiene, nutrition, healthy lifestyles, disease prevention, personal safety, and other relevant health topics.

- Support students with chronic or ongoing health conditions such as asthma, epilepsy, diabetes, allergies, and other medical needs.

- Provide basic emotional support, identify students who may need additional assistance, and facilitate appropriate referrals where necessary.

- Work closely with teachers, school administration, support staff, parents or guardians, and other healthcare professionals to promote a safe and healthy school environment.

- Maintain accurate health records, communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents or guardians, maintain confidentiality, and coordinate referrals when specialized medical attention is required.

Desired Qualifications, Experience & Specification

- Diploma or Degree in Nursing (KRCHN, BScN or equivalent).

- Registration with the Nursing Council of Kenya and a valid practising licence.

- At least 2 years of post-qualification nursing experience.

- Valid First Aid / Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.

- Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.

- Previous experience working as a school nurse or in a school healthcare setting is an added advantage.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, parents, and the wider school community.
