JOB OVERVIEW
Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Sales Representative at Hanchu ESS (Hanchu Energy Zambia), candidates typically need a combination of technical knowledge, proven B2B sales experience in energy storage, solar PV, and strong commercial negotiations skills. (Government or public sector projects).
ACADEMIC & EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Renewable Energy, Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related technical/commercial field.
- Candidates with a combined technical background (understanding solar and battery storage systems) and commercial expertise are heavily favored.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Sales Track Record: 2 to 5 years of direct sales or business development experience, specifically handling corporate, commercial, or industrial clients.
INDUSTRY FOCUS
Preferred background in renewable energy, including
- Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Solar Systems
- High-Voltage Lithium Battery Storage Systems (ESS)
- Industrial Inverters, UPS Systems, or Generators
- Heavy Electrical Equipment / EPC Project Sales
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
- A proven history of hitting revenue targets, managing long sales cycles, and securing high-value contracts with corporate decision-makers.
TECHNICAL & INDUSTRY COMPETENCIES
- Ability to evaluate corporate energy requirements and understand load profiles.
- Explain technical specifications of Hanchu ESS solutions (e.g., peak shaving, load-shedding resistance, emergency backup, microgrids).
- Financial & ROI pitching skills: ability to translate technical solutions into clear financial returns for business clients, demonstrating ROI, payback periods, and electricity cost savings.
ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE
- Strong understanding of the Zambian energy landscape, electricity tariffs, power deficit/grid issues, and relevant industry regulations.
- Existing relationships with Zambian commercial/industrial end-users (mining, manufacturing, agriculture, retail halls), EPC contractors, solar installers, or project developers.
SOFT SKILLS & TOOLS
- Negotiation & closing: High capability in pitching to executive stakeholders (CFOs, Operations Managers, facility Directors) and closing complex sales agreements.
- CRM & Reporting: Experience using CRM platforms, Microsoft Excel for forecasting, and sales pipeline management tools.
- Communication: Business fluency in English.
