Requires a relevant qualification in sales, marketing, business, engineering, or a related field. The position is based in Nairobi and requires on-site work.
Role Purpose
The Pumps Division Sales Lead will own and drive the project sales pipeline for the Pumps Division. This is a commercially focused, field-active role requiring a self-starter who can identify opportunities, develop client relationships, and close project-scale deals with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Pipeline Management: Build and manage a project sales pipeline across target segments including commercial building services, county governments, agribusiness, real estate, and industrial clients. Maintain the divisional pipeline tracker (SharePoint) updated twice weekly with deal status, value, and expected close dates. Submit structured Weekly Sales Reports to the Commercial Lead every Friday.
- Client Outreach & Sales: Conduct direct client outreach, technical presentations, and needs assessments. Prepare and submit technical and commercial proposals, negotiate terms, and close deals. Represent TAW’s integrated multi-division capability in all project sales conversations.
- Operations & Governance: Coordinate with procurement on stock levels and supply chain for project fulfilment. Attend weekly check-ins and fortnightly strategic review sessions with the Commercial Lead.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Water Resources, or related field).
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in the water sector, with a strong grasp of pumping systems including borehole, irrigation, solar pumping, and industrial applications. Demonstrated track record in project sales or business development.
- Competencies: Experience navigating multi-stakeholder sales cycles (technical, procurement, etc.). Familiarity with tender processes, government procurement, and institutional buyer engagement is an advantage.
- License: Valid driving licence — field travel to client sites and project locations is a routine part of the role.
