The role holder will identify and develop quality livestock financing opportunities, build a sustainable pipeline of agricultural customers, deepen existing relationships, and facilitate access to appropriate financial products including working capital, asset finance, agricultural loans, trade finance, deposits, transaction banking, and digital financial services. The RM will serve as a technical and commercial resource on livestock value chains, providing insights on livestock production systems, animal health, feed and nutrition, breeding, market dynamics, seasonality, cash flows, pricing, value addition, and associated agricultural risks. Pasted text KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Livestock Agribusiness Relationship Management Develop and manage strategic relationships with livestock farmers, pastoralist groups, cooperatives, dairy groups, ranchers, aggregators, traders, processors, abattoirs, feed manufacturers, input suppliers, and off-takers. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of quality livestock and agribusiness customers and financing opportunities. Conduct customer visits, livestock farm visits, business reviews, value chain assessments, and relationship management activities. Understand customers' livestock production models, business cycles, cash flows, financing requirements, operational challenges, and growth opportunities. Develop and implement customer acquisition, retention, and portfolio deepening strategies. Identify opportunities to cross-sell deposits, loans, insurance, payments, digital banking, and other relevant financial solutions. Act as the primary relationship contact for assigned livestock customers and coordinate resolution of customer issues with relevant internal teams. Pasted text Livestock Value Chain Development Develop strong technical and commercial knowledge of priority livestock value chains, including dairy, beef, poultry, goats, sheep and other commercially viable livestock enterprises. Map livestock value chains to identify commercially viable financing opportunities, gaps, risks, and opportunities for value addition. Identify strategic anchor companies, processors, aggregators, cooperatives, feed companies, veterinary service providers, and off-takers that can support structured livestock financing. Facilitate linkages between livestock producers, input suppliers, veterinary service providers, processors, markets, and financial services. Support development of livestock financing models based on production cycles, herd/flock economics, milk production, meat production, poultry cycles, and other livestock business models. Monitor livestock market trends, livestock and feed prices, disease outbreaks, weather conditions, regulations, market access, and other factors affecting the portfolio. Identify opportunities for livestock value addition, processing, aggregation, cold-chain development, and market expansion. Support adoption of climate-smart livestock practices, including improved feeding systems, water management, pasture management, manure utilization, improved breeds, and resilient production systems. Promote improved farm and livestock records to strengthen financial management and customer bankability. Pasted text Credit & Portfolio Management Originate quality livestock and agribusiness loan applications in accordance with the Bank's credit policies. Conduct preliminary assessment of customers' financial performance, business models, cash flows, repayment capacity, collateral, livestock assets, and production risks. Prepare high-quality credit proposals and supporting documentation for consideration through the Bank's credit approval processes. Assess livestock-related financing requirements including working capital, livestock purchase, breeding stock, feed, equipment, dairy infrastructure, poultry houses, ranch development, cold storage, transport, and processing equipment. Monitor financed customers and livestock portfolios to identify emerging risks and opportunities. Monitor Portfolio at Risk (PAR) and proactively initiate remedial actions for stressed accounts. Conduct periodic customer and business visits to assess operational performance, utilization of financing, livestock assets, and repayment capacity. Ensure compliance with credit policies, KYC, AML, environmental and social requirements, and all applicable Bank policies and regulations. Pasted text EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS At least 3-5 years of experience managing livestock/agricultural customers, portfolios, value chains, or livestock development programs. Demonstrated experience in originating and managing agricultural or livestock loans and/or agribusiness portfolios. Practical experience working with livestock farmers, pastoralists, cooperatives, aggregators, processors, abattoirs, feed companies, off-takers, or livestock MSMEs. Proven experience in livestock production, aggregation, processing, marketing, or value chain development. Demonstrated experience in assessing livestock enterprises, preparing business/credit proposals, and evaluating repayment capacity. Experience in facilitating access to finance and markets for livestock farmers and agribusinesses. Experience managing livestock-sector risks including animal disease, climate, market, commodity price, production, and repayment risks. Experience working with government institutions, development partners, financial institutions, and private-sector livestock stakeholders is an advantage. Experience in climate-smart and sustainable livestock production systems is an added advantage. Experience in structured agricultural finance, blended finance, guarantees, or risk-sharing facilities is an advantage.
