Key Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate customer loan applications to determine creditworthiness and lending risks.
- Conduct thorough customer due diligence, including verification of identity, income, employment, and other relevant documentation.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s lending policies, risk management procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate potential credit, operational, and fraud risks associated with lending activities.
- Conduct KYC (Know Your Customer) checks and ensure all customer documentation is accurate, complete, and properly maintained.
- Monitor loan portfolios, identify high-risk accounts, and recommend appropriate measures to minimize potential losses.
- Investigate suspected fraudulent activities, irregular transactions, and cases of non-compliance, and prepare detailed reports.
- Conduct merchant and customer verification visits where necessary to validate information provided during loan applications.
- Work closely with the Sales, Collections, Operations, and other relevant departments to ensure effective risk management and compliance.
- Prepare and maintain accurate risk assessment reports, compliance records, and other relevant documentation.
- Recommend improvements to existing risk control measures, lending procedures, and compliance processes.
- Ensure strict adherence to company policies, ethical standards, and confidentiality requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Banking or a related field.
- Proven experience in risk and compliance, credit assessment, loan processing, or a related role, preferably in financial services or lending.
- Good understanding of credit risk assessment, KYC procedures, AML requirements, and lending compliance practices.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies and potential risks in customer documentation.
- Strong communication, report-writing, and interpersonal skills.
- High levels of integrity, professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound, evidence-based risk assessments.
- Knowledge of asset financing, digital lending or credit management is an added advantage.
