VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT@VISION PAINT & BUILDING SERVICES (VPBS)POSITION: QUANTITY SURVEYOR / ESTIMATOR Location: MzuzuOVERVIEW VPBS is seeking a detail-oriented and commercially minded quantity surveyor/estimator to support project pricing, cost planning, BOQ preparation, and cost control across our construction and building projects.Key Responsibilities1. Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs).2. Prepare detailed project cost estimates and quotations.3. Conduct material and labor rate analysis.4. Prepare project budgets and cost breakdowns.5. Obtain and analyze supplier and subcontractor quotations.6. Conduct quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.7. Monitor project costs against approved budgets.8. Prepare variation orders and cost assessments.9. Assist with tender preparation and submission.10. Maintain accurate pricing databases and construction rates.11. Support procurement and project teams with cost information.12. Prepare commercial reports and cost-control documentation.Requirements1. Diploma or degree in quantity surveying, construction economics, building technology, or a related field.2. At least 2–3 years’ relevant experience in construction estimating or quantity surveying.3. Strong knowledge of construction materials, labor, and market rates.4. Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings.5. Excellent numerical and analytical skills.6. Strong attention to detail.7. Proficiency in Excel and construction estimating software.8. Knowledge of BOQ preparation and tendering procedures.9.
