## Job Description

FALANE SOLUTIONS LIMITED

JOB TITLE: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Lusaka

PURPOSE

To independently manage quantity take-offs, BOQs, estimating, quotations, valuations and project cost control to ensure projects are profitable and delivered within budget

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, BOQs, estimates and tender submissions

- Build up unit rates showing materials, labour, equipment, wastage, overheads and profit

- Prepare client quotations with clear scope, assumptions and exclusions

- Obtain and compare supplier & subcontractor quotations with procurement

- Prepare project budgets, cash-flow forecasts and cost-to-complete reports

- Measure completed works, prepare interim valuations and payment applications

- Maintain variation registers and pricing

- Maintain updated rate database and measurement records

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

- Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent

- Minimum 3 years relevant experience, preferably with a building contractor in Zambia

- Member of a relevant professional body

- Proven experience in residential, commercial & warehouse projects (concrete, blockwork, structural steel, roofing & finishes)

- Strong knowledge of Zambian material prices, labour & subcontractor rates

- Advanced Excel & ability to measure from PDF & CAD drawings. QS software is an advantage

- Ability to read architectural, structural & services drawings.
