A well-established industrial and engineering-focused company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector – Trainee to join their growing operations team.
This opportunity is ideal for a technically minded individual looking to build a long-term career within quality assurance, inspection and compliance in a manufacturing and engineering.
The successful candidate will work closely with the QC supervisor and assist with quality control processes, inspection procedures, SHEQ compliance and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
Key responsibilities
Perform quality control inspections on incoming goods and repaired equipmentConduct inter-process and final inspection checks on products and assembliesAssist with the implementation and maintenance of quality management systemsSupport the drafting and implementation of work instructions in line with QMS requirementsCarry out dimensional inspections using measuring equipment and gaugesIssue calibration and conformance certificatesMaintain quality records, documentation and filing systemsAssist with non-conformance reporting and corrective/preventative actionsPerform quality inspections on production parts, sub-assemblies and completed productsAssist with dangerous goods packing and related compliance requirementsManage quarantine and failed stock processesSupport weekly stock takes and inventory control within the radiation storeProcess SAP transactions relating to goods receipt, transfers and quarantine itemsCoordinate engraving and powder coating functions for components and raw materialsMinimum requirements
Grade 12 / matricValid driver’s licenceMust have ISO 9001 experience, quality management system(QMS) experience with in-process quality inspectionMinimum 2 years’ experience in a similar manufacturing, engineering or QC environmentExperience using inspection and measuring equipment including:VerniersMicrometresHeight gaugesGo/no-go gaugesThread gaugesDepth gaugesAdvantageous qualifications
Quality control / internal auditing certificationISO 9001 implementation, awareness or auditing exposureTQMS diploma or related qualificationKey competencies
Strong attention to detail and accuracyGood administrative and organisational abilityStrong technical aptitudeAbility to work independently and within a teamProblem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work in a structured, process-driven environmentEagerness to learn and grow within the quality fieldThis is an excellent opportunity for a junior quality professional looking to gain exposure within a highly technical and specialised environment.
