Illovo Sugar (Malawi) plc is part of Illovo Sugar Africa Group; a wholly-owned subsidiary of Associated British Foods plc (ABF).Duties and Responsibilities- Plan, structure, and lead the execution of improvement and capital projects using appropriate project management processes, methodologies, and tools.- Identify opportunities, develop business cases, motivate stakeholders, and manage implementation to ensure projects deliver required economic, operational, and community outcomes on time and within budget.- Coordinate input and prepare medium- to long-term capital plans, including equipment or technology selection and technical reviews.- Develop project scope of work, manage requests for quotations, and oversee tender evaluations and adjudications to ensure transparent and competitive procurement.- Align and coordinate internal resources and external vendors/contractors for flawless project execution, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.- Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using structured verification techniques to maintain control and transparency.- Monitor procurement and escalate roadblocks to management to prevent delays in project delivery.- Measure and report on project performance, progress, and expenditure against approved budgets using appropriate tools and techniques.- Provide technical leadership in the execution of assigned project work packages ensuring engineering integrity and compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and governance requirements.- Supervise contractors and site teams to maintain quality assurance and technical compliance.- Ensure all projects are fully integrated into operations and maintenance systems through effective handover.- Promote and adhere to Illovo's procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).Job Requirements- Bachelor's degree (BSc) in Civil Engineering – majoring in Structural Engineering with postgraduate qualification/s in Project Management and Professional registration with relevant bodies in Malawi.- Minimum 7 years' experience in a manufacturing or agricultural project environment.- Demonstrated experience in managing and implementing large-scale projects.- Familiarity with OCMS or similar capital planning/project tracking systems would be an advantage.- Strong track record in projects management and in building and leading teams.How to ApplyPlease send your application letters together with detailed CV with copies of relevant certificates, traceable referees and National ID to:The HR Mill HeadIllovo Sugar (Malawi) Plc,Private Bag 50BlantyreOr through email: nchalohr@illovo.co.zaClosing date for receiving application letters is 20 November 2026 and only shortlisted candidates will be acknowledged.Illovo is an equal opportunity employer, and women are encouraged to apply.Sugar is our business but people are our sweetest assets.
