Project Manager: Enterprise Migrations & Transformation

Position Overview
Wiphan Care Ministries delivers outsourced customer experience and document processing services to US-based clients. We are recruiting an experienced Project Manager to work on behalf of Docufree Corporation, a US national provider of cloud-based, AI-powered document management and automation solutions.
You will be employed by Wiphan in Zambia and embedded in Docufree’s Project Management Office. You will lead complex enterprise migrations, acquisition integrations, platform consolidations and digital transformation projects alongside US-based engineering, product, security, operations and executive teams.
This role requires you to work US business hours from Zambia on a consistent basis: 14:00–23:00 CAT, Monday to Friday (15:00–00:00 CAT from November to March). Please apply only if you can reliably commit to these hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end migrations, from planning and testing through cutover, stabilisation and closure
- Build migration strategies, integrated plans, wave schedules, cutover and rollback plans, and HyperCare activities
- Set clear entry and exit criteria, readiness checkpoints and decision gates for each phase
- Identify and manage risks to data integrity, integrations, security, customer impact and operational continuity
- Run several concurrent, high-visibility projects, maintaining charters, schedules, RAID logs, decision logs, status reports and executive dashboards
- Facilitate kickoffs, working sessions, steering committees and post-implementation reviews
- Drive decisions and ownership across teams without direct authority
- Turn technical detail into concise, decision-ready updates for executives
- Map current and future-state processes, and turn lessons learned into reusable playbooks and templates
- Keep complete, audit-ready project records and support change-control requirements
Minimum Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- 3–5 years of project or programme management experience on complex technology or business-transformation initiatives
- Proven experience leading system migrations, integrations, platform consolidations or modernisation programmes
- Working knowledge of cloud technologies, AWS concepts, SaaS platforms, APIs and data-migration practices
- Practical understanding of Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery approaches
- Experience with Smartsheet and Jira, and strong proficiency in Microsoft 365, Teams, PowerPoint and Excel
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the confidence to engage senior US stakeholders
- Strong facilitation, negotiation, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills
- The ability to work independently, manage ambiguity and juggle competing priorities with limited oversight
- A reliable home or office internet connection and power backup suitable for virtual work
- Eligibility to work in Zambia
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum, SAFe or similar certification
- Lean Six Sigma or formal process-improvement experience
- Experience in enterprise content management, intelligent document processing, workflow automation, digital mailroom or BPO services
- Experience in regulated sectors such as financial services, insurance, healthcare, government, education or legal services
- A track record of building repeatable migration playbooks and leading post-cutover stabilisation
- Previous experience working with US or international clients across time zones
