## Job Description

IT Jobs, National Quality Control Laboratory (NQCL) Jobs. Principal ICT Officer leads IT systems and infrastructure, requires an IT/CS degree, professional IT certifications (e.g., CCNP, CISA), 4-week management course, and 9+ years ICT experience (3+ at senior level). Full-time role in Nairobi.

### Responsibilities

### Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail

- Implementing ICT policies, guidelines, procedures and standards;

- Installing and maintaining computer systems;

- Developing and updating application systems;

- Carrying out system analysis design and software specifications in liaison with users;

- Carrying out repairs and maintenance of information communication technology equipment and associated peripherals;

- Drawing up hardware specification for information communication technology equipment;

- Verifying, validating and certifying information communication technology equipment;

- Implementing computer systems and providing user support including training users; and

- Performing technical, systems and user documentation.

Qualifications

### For appointment to this grade, an Officer must have

- Cumulative service period of nine (9) years relevant work experience, three (3) of which should have been in the grade of Senior Information Communication Technology Officer or in a comparable position;

- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Information Communication Technology, Business Information Technology or equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution; and

- Relevant ICT certifications such as CCNP, MCSE, CISA, CISSP, Prince 2 or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

- Membership to a relevant professional body where applicable;

- Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution; and

- Proficiency in computer applications.
