The company provides a comprehensive range of services, including stockbroking, sponsoring brokerage, equity investment research, and portfolio management, serving a diverse clientele of individual and institutional investors.SML is inviting applications from suitably qualified, experienced, and highly motivated candidates to fill the position of Portfolio Manager, based at its Blantyre office.Application Deadline: Thursday, 15th October 2026POSITION: PORTFOLIO MANAGERJOB TYPE: Full TimeKEY REQUIREMENTSQualifications and Experience:Must have bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Investments, Business Administration or any other related discipline.Possession of Master's Degree in Economics, Finance or Business Administration or related field will be an advantage.Must have Chartered Financial Analyst qualification, ACCA or related field.Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in investment management, asset management, corporate finance, investment banking, stockbroking, or related financial services.Proven track record in originating and executing corporate finance transactions.Experience conducting financial modeling and business valuation assignments.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPortfolio Management: Develop, manage, monitor, and rebalance diversified client portfolios to achieve investment objectives and optimal risk-adjusted returns.Investment Research and Analysis: Conduct market, economic, industry, company, and financial analysis to identify opportunities and support well-founded investment recommendations.Corporate Finance Advisory: Originate, structure, advise on, and execute corporate finance transactions from evaluation and due diligence through negotiation and completion.Client Relationship Management: Build trusted client relationships by understanding investment needs, communicating portfolio performance and strategy, and providing timely advice.Risk Management and Compliance: Monitor and mitigate investment risks while ensuring full compliance with mandates, internal policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.Business Development: Drive growth by supporting client acquisition, increasing assets under management, developing new investment solutions, and strengthening institutional relationships.HOW TO APPLYApplications together with detailed and updated Curriculum Vitae should be forwarded to the addressee below:Head of Human CapitalNational Bank of Malawi plcP.O.
