Job description
Reporting to the Facility Manager, the Pharmaceutical Technologist is responsible for dispensing medication to clients, stock taking, managing information on drugs, and ensuring compliance.
Essential Responsibilities
- Managing the pharmacy inventory and accurate record keeping.
- Proper dispensing, packaging, labelling and storage of medication.
- Ensuring correct prescriptions and adherence to all relevant guidelines and procedures.
- Assisting in preparation of pharmaceutical compounds and sterile products.
- Patient counseling.
- Ensuring a clean well-organized pharmacy and liaising with the clinic team on drugs management.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in pharmaceutical technology from a recognized institution.
- Enrolled by Kenya Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- Valid practicing license from Kenya Pharmacy and Poison’s Board.
- At least 3 years of work experience in a similar position.
- Current Certificate of good conduct.
Key Competencies
- Good communication skills and customer care.
- Ability to comply with rules, regulations and procedures in the pharmacy unit.
- Computer literate
