Job description

Reporting to the Facility Manager, the Pharmaceutical Technologist is responsible for dispensing medication to clients, stock taking, managing information on drugs, and ensuring compliance.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Managing the pharmacy inventory and accurate record keeping.
  • Proper dispensing, packaging, labelling and storage of medication.
  • Ensuring correct prescriptions and adherence to all relevant guidelines and procedures.
  • Assisting in preparation of pharmaceutical compounds and sterile products.
  • Patient counseling.
  • Ensuring a clean well-organized pharmacy and liaising with the clinic team on drugs management.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma in pharmaceutical technology from a recognized institution.
  • Enrolled by Kenya Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
  • Valid practicing license from Kenya Pharmacy and Poison’s Board.
  • At least 3 years of work experience in a similar position.
  • Current Certificate of good conduct.

Key Competencies

  1. Good communication skills and customer care.
  2. Ability to comply with rules, regulations and procedures in the pharmacy unit.
  3. Computer literate
