Job description

Role Summary

The Pharmaceutical Technologist is responsible for dispensing medications, ensuring safe and effective use of pharmaceutical drugs, providing professional advice to patients and healthcare staff, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Medication Dispensing

  • Prepare and dispense medications accurately and efficiently.

Telepharmacy Services

  • Manage telepharmacy operations, including processing prescription orders and providing medication-related information to healthcare providers and patients.

Stakeholder Management

  • Engage and liaise with stakeholders such as third-party pharmacies, vendors, and suppliers on behalf of Zuri Health to support operational efficiency, patient care, and pharmacy success.

Compliance Management

  • Ensure Zuri Health meets regulatory standards and operates within legal and ethical guidelines, safeguarding patient safety and the integrity of healthcare practices.

Medical Inventory Management

  • Plan demand and supply of medication, source medication, maintain adequate stock levels, conduct regular inventory checks, and ensure proper storage conditions.

Patient Care Support

  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to review patient medication profiles, address medication-related inquiries, and provide education on proper medication usage and potential side effects.

Documentation and Record-Keeping

  • Maintain complete and accurate records of medication transactions, patient information, and pharmacy activities in compliance with regulatory standards.

Quality Assurance

  • Implement measures to prevent medication errors, ensure adherence to pharmacy protocols, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Patient Education

  • Provide educational information to patients on the proper use, storage, and potential side effects of medications.

Branding

  • Participate in the promotion and marketing of Zuri Health Pharmacy services.

Travel

  • Ability to travel for work-related activities when needed.
