HR Jobs, Healthy U Jobs. Looking for an HR job in Kenya? Healthy U is hiring a People & Culture Business Partner skilled in HR strategy, employee engagement, performance management, and organizational development.

Purpose

  • As Head of People & Culture/HR, you’ll be the architect of HealthyU’s organization growth, talent strategy, culture and employee experience.
  • You’ll lead with empathy and boldness, building systems that scale while nurturing a mission-driven, high-performing team that shows ownership and agility.
  • This role blends strategic foresight with hands-on execution-ideal for a builder who thrives in fast-paced, purpose-led environments.

Key Responsibilities

People Strategy & Organizational Growth ·

  • Co-create & execute a people strategy aligned with HealthyU’s growth, values, and impact goals.
  • Own talent metrics and organization culture strategy to nurture ownership and agility.
  • Manage HR budgets and work across BUS to ensures efficient allocation of resources.

HR Policies & Administration ·

  • Establish, administer and update HR policies, systems, and procedures that facilitate effective people management and HR service delivery.
  • Ensure complete adherence with internal policies, external regulations, and labor laws, emphasizing zero-tolerance policies and upholding the Company values.
  • Drive all HR administrative functions, including payroll, benefits administration, and employee records management with accuracy and confidentiality. Manage staff benefits including medical insurance and pension. ·
  • Maintain all HR records with 100% precision and strict confidentiality.
  • Ensure job descriptions and performance targets are up to date and reviewed regularly.
  • Implement HR information systems and technologies to streamline operations.
  • Address and resolve employee conflicts and grievances in a timely and effective manner.

Compliance & Legal ·

  • Ensure strict compliance with labor laws across all jurisdictions, collaborating closely with the legal team on disciplinary matters.
  • Identify, report and mitigate potential risks associated with staff employment, including data protection, and compliance with HR policies, labor laws, and other legislation.
  • Any potential risk must be immediately reported to CEO, and preventive actions are to be suggested.
  • Undertake HR and administration audits and actively participate in risk management committees to actively protect company interests.
  • Ensure Collective Bargaining Agreement is adhered to when dealing with union members.

Talent Acquisition & Employer

  • Branding Proactively partner with BU Heads for workforce planning, and effective and efficient fulfillment of talent acquisition needs.
  • Build a robust employer branding that attracts mission-aligned, high quality & diverse talent.

Performance, Growth & Learning

  • Oversee the end-to-end performance management process, ensuring alignment of employee performance with Company goals, assisting in creating and retaining high-performing employees and teams.
  • Develop strategies for employee reward and recognition, motivation, and retention. Identify and address talent gaps through succession planning activities in collaboration with leaders and managers.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on salary administration and reward programs.
  • Launch learning programs, mentorship, and coaching to build internal capability.
  • Drive succession planning and leadership development for future-ready teams.

Compensation, Benefits & Well-being

  • Design equitable, transparent compensation frameworks that reward impact and growth.
  • Manage benefits and wellness programs that support holistic well-being.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in progressive HR roles, including 4 years of leadership experience.
  • Proven experience in managing and working with multicultural teams of 400+ employees, and prior experience of handling Unions.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Deep understanding of African labor laws.
  • Experience building culture and systems from scratch.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong emotional intelligence, strategic thinking, problem-solving and execution skills.
  • Passion for social impact, inclusion, and human-centered design. Membership in IHRM. ·
  • Preferred Masters in HR / Psychology or related field. Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
