Payments Officer (Maternity Cover) processing and reconciling payments, requiring experience in payment operations or financial services with strong attention to detail, in a financial services environment, on-site role. ### Responsibilities - Processing and monitoring all deposits (Banks, E-Banking, E-Wallets, Cards, Exchange Houses) - Processing and monitoring all withdrawals requests (Banks, E-Banking, E-Wallets, Cards, Exchange Houses) - Processing and Monitoring indemnification requests after necessary approvals. - Processing and Monitoring urgent Credits to ensure protections of client’s margin after necessary approvals. - Assisting internal and external clients with major queries and requests related to payments and account transactions. - Provide the clients guidance on how to use client’s portal to deposit, withdraw or do an internal transfer between account. - Handling client’s complaints in a professional manner, follow up with the concerned department or PSPs if necessary and assure an audit or escalation to completion. - Report technical issues and pursue to completion. - Preparing necessary handovers for the morning shifts, including withdrawal batches, tickets, and any issue that will need their action/assist with team’s workload. - Assist with the preparation of the daily payment reconciliation report between our systems to ensure there is no misappropriation - Compliance, risk and fraud checks – carrying out various identification checks to comply with anti-money-laundering regulations. - Assisting seniors and management with all ad-hoc queries, reports, and investigations. - Follow up with banks and PSPs on missing payments or related issues. - Handling confidential information in accordance with the Data Protection Act. Skills & Competencies - Self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent management and attention to details. - Being flexible and adaptable is very important.   - Aptitude for building relationships and ability to communicate on complex issues. - Fluent in spoken and written Swahili and English. - Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, computer operation and experienced with Excel formulas. - Able to multi-task, determine priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced business environment. - Has capacity to adapt to the changing market environment and work well under pressure. - FX and trading knowledge is an advantage. - Proficient in all forms of communication externally and internally. - Discretion in handling sensitive information. - Team player with the ability to cooperate with multiple parties. - Able to adjust easily to any new product and payment method on boarded by the company. Experience Requirements - Business related bachelor’s degree - ACCA/CPA qualification will be an added advantage. - Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills in English and Swahili - At least 3 years’ experience in Finance/Accounting / Banking / Customer Service industries is an advantage.
