### Operations Manager

Location: Zambia
Reporting to: Chief Operating Officer

J&J Transport Zambia Ltd is seeking experienced and results-driven Operations Managers to lead and optimize our transport and logistics operations across the SADC region.

This strategic leadership role is responsible for managing a large fleet of heavy-duty vehicles, leading multidisciplinary teams, strengthening customer relationships, and ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and profitability.

The successful candidate will be a proactive leader with extensive cross-border transport experience, strong commercial acumen, and a proven ability to drive business growth through efficient fleet management and exceptional service delivery.

### Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage all fleet and operational activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective service delivery.

- Drive customer retention and business growth through strong stakeholder engagement and service excellence.

- Oversee cross-border operations and coordinate with regional representatives across the SADC region.

- Ensure compliance with statutory, customs, insurance, licensing, and company requirements.

- Manage operational performance, reporting, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Collaborate with Finance, HR, Legal, and Documentation departments to support seamless operations.

- Develop, mentor, and lead high-performing teams while promoting accountability and operational excellence.

- Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, turnaround times, and overall business performance.

### Requirements

- Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.

- Minimum 10 years’ senior management experience within transport and logistics.

- Strong knowledge of cross-border transportation and customs procedures within the SADC region.

- Proven experience managing large fleets and leading operational teams.

- Sound commercial, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.

- Professional Membership: Valid practicing certificate and membership with relevant bodies (ZCILT).
