Job description
Medical Jobs. AIC Kijabe Hospital Jobs. Responsible for assisting with patient nutritional assessments, supporting meal planning and helping monitor patients’ nutritional progress under the supervision of qualified nutritionists. Requires ongoing studies or a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics or a related field. This is a full-time, on-site internship
Key Responsibilities
- Instruct patients, families and health care staff on individualized diet therapy, general nutrition principles, food selection and preparation.
- Conduct nutritional screenings/assessments for assigned patients applying the nutrition care process.
- Develop, review and adapt therapeutic and modified diets to meet the needs of individual patients in cooperation with health care staff.
- Instruct the catering team on food preparation in diet kitchen for conformance with prescribed diets and standards of sanitation, palatability, appearance and nutritional quality.
- Monitor nutrition programs to ensure compliance with local standards and regulations.
Qualifications and skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics or any other related field.
- Must demonstrate high integrity and ethical practice.
- Should have ability to solve problems by applying relevant nutrition knowledge.
- Must demonstrate ability to multitask.
- Must be indexed by Kenya Nutritionists and Dietician Institute(KNDI).
