Job Purpose
- We are looking for a Modern Trade Executive to take ownership of our Modern Trade (MT) stands from planning through to maintenance, ensuring every stand meets brand and merchandising standards. This role plans and runs a regular store visit schedule, coordinates design and activation needs with internal teams, manages new store openings and dealer accounts, and keeps merchandise and asset bank records accurate and up to date. You will work closely with the Retail Project Lead on stand delivery and with Product Managers on product-specific merchandising priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a merchandise visibility tracker across assigned brands, flagging gaps and following up on corrective action.
- Manage and keep the MT stands tracker current, capturing stand location, status and condition across all outlets.
- Manage MT stands end to end – planning, installation, maintenance and decommissioning – in full compliance with the Modern Trade SOP.
- Plan and execute a structured store visit schedule to inspect stand condition, merchandising standards and SOP compliance.
- Work with the Retail Project Lead to coordinate stand builds, refurbishments and rollout timelines.
- Liaise with Product Managers to align stand and merchandising priorities with product launches and campaigns.
- Manage design requests raised by the Modern Trade team, tracking turnaround time against the agreed design KPI.
- Communicate design status and turnaround timelines to the team to proactively manage expectations.
- Manage MT activations, including merchandise deployment and demo unit set-up, ensuring activations run to brief and budget.
- Track demo units and merchandise deployed to stands and activations, and account for their return or redeployment.
- Manage new MT store openings, including dealer account opening, ensuring KPI targets and budget adherence are met.
- Track turnaround of asset banks (POS and merchandising assets) tied to store openings and dealer accounts.
- Maintain online dealer records and associated asset bank allocation, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
- Submit regular reports on stand status, activations, store openings and asset bank tracking to the Head of Marketing.
Qualification
- Diploma or degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- Prior experience in modern trade, retail marketing, or visual merchandising.
Key Skills
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple stands and store visits on a schedule.
- Comfortable working with trackers, budgets and reporting tools.
- Good communication skills, with experience coordinating across design, product and retail teams.
- Willingness to travel regularly for store visits.
- Valid driving license (where store visits require travel between outlets).
