Responsible for reviewing inpatient and outpatient clinical progress, ensuring treatment plans follow medical protocols, coordinating patient discharge, liaising with insurance providers, communicating with patients and families, participating in clinical audits, and supporting quality patient care. Requires an MBChB from a recognised university, a valid KMPDC practising licence, and 2–3 years of clinical practice. The position is based in Machakos and requires on-site work.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Review: Monitor and review the clinical progress of inpatient and outpatient to ensure treatment plans align with established medical protocols and hospital policies
- Insurance Liaison
- Discharge Planning: Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate smooth patient transitions and timely discharges.
- Patient Advocacy: Communicate complex medical updates to families and patients, ensuring they understand their treatment journey
- Quality Audit: Participate in clinical audits to improve patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from a recognized university.
- Licensing: Valid up-to-date license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
- Experience: At least 2-3 years of clinical practice. Management is a significant advantage.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with ICD-10/11 coding and Kenya’s health insurance landscape (SHA and private insurers)
