## Job Description

Mechanical Technician role at Farmer’s Choice. Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment and production machinery. Requires a relevant mechanical engineering qualification and practical maintenance experience. The role is based in Nairobi with duties performed on-site.

### Job Purpose

Provide reliable, timely, and hands-on mechanical maintenance support to keep production machinery, utilities, and mechanical systems operating safely and efficiently.

### Key Responsibilities

- Respond promptly to mechanical breakdowns and minimize production disruption.

- Diagnose faults using systematic troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.

- Repair, replace, adjust, and modify machinery and mechanical components.

- Execute planned preventive maintenance, inspections, lubrication, and alignment.

- Maintain production machinery, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and drives.

- Record breakdowns, repairs, downtime, and corrective actions.

- Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives.

### Key Competencies

- Mechanical troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.

- Preventive maintenance and equipment reliability.

- Mechanical fitting, alignment, and installations.

- Strong safety and food-hygiene awareness.

- Teamwork, professionalism, and clear communication.

- Fabrication and welding experience is an added advantage.

### Qualifications & Experience

- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

- Minimum 6 years’ relevant mechanical maintenance experience.

- FMCG, food-processing, or manufacturing experience preferred.
