Job Description
Position : Matron (1 Position – Directorate of Student Affairs)Company: University of MalawiLocation: Zomba, MalawiQualifications:Be an Enrolled NurseHave worked for at least six (6) years in a clinic, with demonstrable counselling experienceHave at least six (6) years of experience working with the youthHave vast experience in providing Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) services, family planning services, and youth-friendly health servicesDemonstrate good communication, counselling, interpersonal and report-writing skillsHave the ability to work effectively with youth and other stakeholders in addressing health, welfare and related concernsKey Duties & Responsibilities:Compiling, documenting and handling students' health and welfare issuesProviding appropriate counselling and health-related support to studentsIdentifying and reporting hostel faults requiring maintenanceMonitoring hostel sanitation, hygiene and general health standardsReporting non-compliance by students in halls of residenceReporting security, health, safety and maintenance issues in halls of residenceLiaising with students on health, welfare and other related issuesPromoting health education and healthy living among studentsMaintaining appropriate records relating to student health and welfarePreparing periodic reports on student health, welfare and hostel-related mattersPerforming any other duties as may reasonably be assigned by the relevant authoritiesHow to Apply:Submit applications, including a detailed CV with up-to-date contact details, copies of certificates and academic transcripts, and names of three traceable referees via email OR by post.Email Address: vacancies@unima.ac.mwPostal Address: The Registrar, University of Malawi, P.O.
