Department: Legal & RecoveriesLocation: Head Office- BlantyreValidity period: 10/08/2026 – 16/08/2026About the BusinessFINCA Limited (Malawi), a subsidiary of FINCA Impact Finance (FIF), is a deposit taking micro finance institution in Malawi operating through 22 (twenty-two) service outlets serving borrowers and savers in rural, urban, and peri-urban areas in Malawi.FINCA Limited (Malawi) is increasing access to its services and products through alternate channels.Essential Duties And Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.I. Providing legal assistance to the Head of Legal and Company SecretaryRepresenting the Company in courts of lawAnalysing litigation trends and preparing proposal to reduce legal casesPreparation of client and employee litigation reports for audit purposesProviding assistance on corporate finance issuesAssisting with debt collection measuresAttending disciplinary hearings and mediation sessionsMaintaining sound filing and case management systemsII. Providing operational assistance to the Operations DepartmentSupporting the Operations Department on all legal issuesAdvising the Company on loan contract managementAttending Credit Committees where legal input is requiredAssisting in the arrangement of credit life insuranceAuthorising collateral perfection in the PPSR and drafting security documents including charges and mortgagesIII. Drafting and reviewing loan contracts and other documentsDrafting and reviewing client loan contractsReviewing changes that may impact loan contracts and operation documents and making recommendations to ManagementDrafting and reviewing demand noticesAssisting in the drafting of general legal documentsIV. General legal researchConducting legal research as requestedPreparing legal opinions and giving legal advice to both internal and external clientsV. Conducting Legal TrainingsConducting Legal Trainings/Presentations from time to time in liaison with the Head Legal Officer and Corporate SecretaryConducting trainings on collateral handling, debt collection and anti-money laundering issues.VI.
