Job description

Junior in title. Big on potential. “That is awesome!” If that’s what you want people to say when they see your work, you could be the junior multimedia designer we’re looking for in our Durban jungle. You’ve got an eye for design, some motion skills, and a portfolio that shows us how you think. You’re ready to contribute ideas, learn from experienced creatives and turn feedback into better work. Do you care where that type sits? So do we. Layout, typography, colour and composition matter, whether you’re creating a static social post, a simple animation or a digital banner. We’re looking for solid foundations and the enthusiasm to keep building on them. Can you give good ideas a little movement? You’ll help create social content, simple GIFs, short video edits and motion graphics. You’ll also adapt campaign designs across formats and support website, email, and other digital design work, with guidance from the team. Are AI tools already part of your creative toolkit? Comfort using a variety of AI image and video generation tools is a must. You should have practical experience using them to explore visual directions, generate material, and develop work further through design and editing. Show us what you made, which tools you used, and what you did to get it there. We’re interested in your eye and your decisions throughout the process. Are you ready to learn out loud? Ask questions. Share references. Bring an idea to the brainstorm. You’ll work closely with designers, copywriters and social managers, building your understanding of our brands and learning how to make work that connects with their audiences.. A little about our jungle: We’re Gorilla, an independent creative agency that believes a social post has every right to be as awesome as a TV spot. We care about the work, the people making it, and having some fun along the way. Ready to grow in our Jungle? Send your CV and portfolio to [[iwannawork@gorillacreativemedia.com]], with Junior Multimedia Designer in the subject line. Applicants need to be Durban-based or prepared to relocate. Please include examples of your AI image and video work, with a short explanation of your contribution.
