It sits within walking distance of Fort Portal town center and is approximately 5 kilometers west of the historic Tooro Kingdom Palace. Job Summary: Ridge Hotel is seeking a passionate, energetic, and talented Junior Chef to join our growing hospitality team. The successful candidate will support the kitchen team in preparing high-quality meals, maintaining food safety standards, and delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. Key
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to hotel or restaurant standards. Prepare ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring. Ensure food is prepared and presented in a timely and appealing manner. Always maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen. Follow food safety and sanitation procedures. Assist with stock management, inventory checks, and proper storage of food items. Support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations. Ensure kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained properly. Help minimize food wastage and maintain portion control. Perform other kitchen duties as assigned by the Head Chef or Kitchen Supervisor Qualifications,
Skills
and Experience: Certificate or training in Catering, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or a related field is an added advantage. Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Good communication and teamwork skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately. Good personal hygiene and grooming standards. Reliable, hardworking, and willing to learn. Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays. Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is an added advantage Personal Attributes Passion for cooking and hospitality. Creativity and willingness to learn.
