Industrial Engineer Intern

Job description

We are looking for a motivated and detail orientated Industrial Engineer Intern to join our team, based in Elsies River Cape Town. This an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands on experience. The successful candidate will support continuous improvement initiatives, process optimisation, data analysis, and productivity enhancement projects within a manufacturing environment. Main responsibilities: Assist with monitoring and improving manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and productivity.Support in identifying and resolving production and equipment-related issues.Collect, analyse, and report on production and process performance data.Participate in continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives.Assist with equipment inspections, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting.Prepare and update technical documentation, reports, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).Support quality assurance activities and ensure compliance with manufacturing standards.Assist with Adhoc projects, including planning, tracking, and implementation as and when requiredEnsure adherence to health, safety, and environmental requirements.Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to achieve operational goals.Perform administrative and technical duties as assigned by the Manager.Qualifications:Diploma or degree in:Industrial engineeringOr a related engineering qualification.Knowledge and skills: Basic understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Good attention to detail and accuracy.Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
