IITA Laboratory Technician – Two Positions in Ibadan, Nigeria

Job description

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is recruiting two Laboratory Technicians for its headquarters in Ibadan, Oyo State. The technicians will support cassava production through nodal cutting, plantlet establishment and multiplication; monitor growth and hygiene in the screen house; identify pests or contamination; and maintain production records and materials.

Eligibility: IITA seeks Nigerian nationals. Location and arrangement: Ibadan, Nigeria; on site. Contract: six months, renewable. Closing date: 21 October 2026; no exact cut-off time is stated. IITA describes remuneration as competitive but does not state an amount.

Requirements

National Diploma in Laboratory Science Technology or a related field, plus at least two years of relevant experience in a well-structured organisation. Practical knowledge of cassava propagation and SAH technology, strong communication and teamwork, problem-solving, accurate record keeping and data management.
