Role Overview: HSSEQ Officer
The HSSEQ Officer will play a pivotal role in managing and supporting the implementation of Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality (HSSEQ) management systems. This full-time position based in Zambia offers the opportunity to contribute to a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
Key Responsibilities for HSSEQ Officer Jobs in Zambia
- Manage day-to-day HSSEQ operations and provide technical support to operational teams.
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver HSSEQ campaigns, training sessions, and awareness programs.
- Lead internal and external HSSEQ audits, ensuring corrective actions are effectively implemented.
- Monitor compliance and proactively report deviations to minimize risks and enhance performance.
- Conduct investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and corrective measures.
- Perform workplace inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification with recommendations for improvements.
- Maintain accurate HSSEQ documentation, reports, and statutory records.
- Support emergency preparedness initiatives, including drills and response planning.
- Prepare monthly HSSEQ performance reports to inform management decisions and continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Strong computer literacy with expertise in data management.
- Solid understanding of risk assessment methodologies.
- Experience with ISO standards 9001, 14001, 45001, and 22301.
- Excellent written communication and report writing skills.
