## Job Description

Health and Safety Jobs. Kenya Builders & Concrete Jobs. HSE Officer inspecting sites and ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations, requiring a Bachelor’s Degree in Safety and Health or Environmental Management with at least 4 years relevant work experience, in a construction environment, on-site role.

### Key Responsibilities

- Record daily near-miss, unsafe-incident and accident reports.

- Inspect sites to ensure visitor/staff compliance with company safety/health rules.

- Investigate accidents/unsafe occurrences and ensure corrective action prevents recurrence.

- Conduct follow-up inspections and track hazards per the job risk assessment programme.

- Conduct impromptu/scheduled safety inspections on premises/sites; ensure SOPs, identify hazards and ensure safety/health compliance.

- Ensure compliance with safety/health requirements (OSHA Act, NEMA, WIBA Act) and subsidiary rules, including Safety and Health Committee Rules.

- Liaise with HR to schedule/facilitate safety/health training, including First Aid and Occupational Health and Safety.

- Conduct health/safety meetings; ensure site rules, signage and appropriate PPE.

- Schedule and coordinate monthly safety and health committee meetings.

- Implement emergency-response plans, coordinate emergency teams and conduct fire drills.

- Conduct EHS induction for new employees/visitors per company policy.

- Keep up to date with relevant health/safety legislation and communicate changes to management.

- Work with Administration/regulators to secure/renew permits and licences on time.

 KEY OUTPUTS / DELIVERABLES

- Compliance with regulatory authorities (WIBA, OSHA, NEMA).

- Up-to-date HSE policies, standards and procedures.

- Periodic safety audits/assessments to uphold health standards.

- Monthly reports on incidents, identified gaps and corrective actions.

- Ensure ISO Standards are maintained/adhered to and strive for the highest standards.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety and Health, Environmental Management or related discipline.

- Professional qualification in Environment Health and Safety.

- At least 4 years’ relevant work experience in a dynamic environment.

- Good understanding of EHS regulations/compliance in Kenya.

- Experience in EHS research/investigations and recommending solutions for change.

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCES

- Experience working cross-functionally and with multidisciplinary teams.

- Safety-conscious and able to apply methodologies to improve processes.

- Able to work well under pressure and without supervision in a fast-paced environment.

- Able to produce desired results under minimal supervision within prescribed timeframes.
