These positions are urgent and applicants are expected to be assessed on a rolling basis. As integral members of our Housekeeping Department, the candidates will be primarily responsible for maintaining cleanliness, washing, sorting, drying, folding and ironing linens, making beds and changing linen including providing customer or guest service when required. ROLE NO. 1: Housekeeper (2) TYPE: Full-time REPORTS TO: Housekeeping Supervisor DEPARTMENT: Housekeeping Experience: 3+ years DUTY STATION: Cliff View Hotel (Mchinji)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
FOR HOUSEKEEPER Cleaning and Sanitizing Cleaning rooms, bathrooms, kitchens and common areas by sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming and polishing surfaces. Making beds and changing linen Ensuring fresh bedding and proper room set-up for guests and residents. Stocking and maintaining supplies Toiletries, cleaning products and linens. Trash and recycling management Emptying bins and proper disposal. Light clerical duties and administrative tasks Reporting maintenance issues or assisting with inventory. Customer service Assisting guests and residents and responding politely to enquiries or residents. ROLE NO. 2: Laundry Attendant (2) REPORTING TO: Housekeeping Supervisor
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
OF LAUNDRY ATTENDANT Laundry Operations Sort laundry by colour, fabric and cleaning requirements. Operate washers, dryers, steamers and ironing equipment. Apply detergents, bleach, and stain removers as required. Wash, dry, fold, and iron linens and clothing according to standards. Inspect items for stains, tears or damage and report issues Customer or Guest Service and Relations Handle guest or customer laundry requests and special instructions. Receive and return clothes with proper tagging and documentation. Cleanliness and Safety Maintain a clean and organized laundry area. Follow safety procedures when handling chemicals and equipment Inventory and Equipment Track laundry suppliers and request replenishment. Ensure machines are in good working condition and report malfunctions. Compliance Ensure adherence to safety and health standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
AND
REQUIREMENTS
Basic communication and customer service skills. Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality management – for Housekeeping position. Proven with 3+ years of experience.
