HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICERS (2 POSITIONS)

Job description

Location: Project Sites, MalawiEmployment Type: Fixed -TermWe are inviting applications from suitably qualified, experienced, and motivated individuals to fill two (2) positions of Health and Safety Officers for our construction projects.Key Duties and Responsibilities* Implement and monitor health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures on construction sites.* Conduct routine site inspections and identify potential hazards and unsafe working conditions.* Ensure compliance with applicable occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, and project requirements.* Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness training for site personnel.* Prepare and maintain risk assessments, method statements, incident reports, and other HSE documentation.* Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and recommend corrective and preventive measures.* Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce site safety rules.* Ensure that machinery, equipment, scaffolding, excavations, and other construction activities comply with safety requirements.* Maintain HSE records and prepare regular safety performance reports.* Liaise with project management, site supervisors, subcontractors, and other relevant stakeholders on health and safety matters.Minimum Qualifications and Requirements* A recognised qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.* Relevant experience in health and safety management, preferably within the construction industry.* Knowledge of applicable Malawi occupational health and safety legislation and construction site safety requirements.* Training in first aid, fire safety, risk assessment, and incident investigation will be an added advantage.* Strong communication, organisational, reporting, and problem-solving skills.* Ability to work independently and enforce safety standards in a busy construction environment.How to ApplyInterested candidates should submit their application letter, detailed CV, copies of relevant academic and professional certificates, and contact details of at least two referees to:Email: engsysttech@yahoo.comPhysical Address: Wenela Behind Customs Office, BlantyreApplications should be submitted no later than 18th October 2026.Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
