Finance Jobs. The Monarch Insurance Jobs. Head of Risk & Compliance leading Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance functions, requiring a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Insurance with 7+ years experience in risk or compliance, in an insurance environment, on-site role.
ROLE SUMMARY
- The successful candidate will lead the company’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Compliance functions, ensuring effective risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and regulatory compliance across the organization. The role will provide strategic guidance to management and the Board on risk, governance, compliance, anti-money laundering, data protection, and emerging regulatory matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee enterprise-wide risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures.
- Identify, assess, monitor, and report organizational risks and compliance exposures.
- Maintain risk registers, monitoring tools, and risk reporting mechanisms.
- Ensure compliance with insurance industry regulations, AML requirements, data protection laws, and internal policies.
- Promote a strong risk-aware culture through training and stakeholder engagement.
- Liaise with Internal Audit, regulators, and senior management on risk and compliance matters.
- Prepare regular risk and compliance reports for management and the Board.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Insurance, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
- Relevant Professional qualification.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in risk, compliance, or audit, preferably within the insurance/financial services sector, including 3 years at management level.
- Strong knowledge of insurance operations, regulatory requirements, and risk management practices.
- Membership in a relevant professional body.
- Masters Degree will be an added advantage.
