Requires a relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. The position is based in Nairobi and requires on-site work.

Job Summary The role holder leads CBK’s Data Infrastructure, Platforms, Engineering, and Integration capabilities, overseeing data engineering pipelines, platform administration, and system integrations. The leader provides a robust, scalable, and secure technical foundation to support all enterprise Data, Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence initiatives.

### Key Responsibilities

- Strategic Leadership: Direct the Data Platforms, Engineering, and Integrations section, executing the enterprise Data Architecture framework and shaping technology roadmaps for hybrid and cloud ecosystems.

- Platform & Engineering Operations: Manage platform administration, ETL/ELT pipelines, workflow orchestration, and automated data processing solutions to ensure high availability, security, and reliability.

- Integration Governance: Oversee enterprise integration technologies—including Oracle SOA Suite, WebLogic, API platforms, and Enterprise Service Buses (ESB)—ensuring seamless connectivity between data platforms, analytics tools, and core CBK systems.

- Team & Vendor Management: Lead, build, and mentor multi-disciplinary teams of data platform administrators, integration specialists, and data engineers while managing strategic OEM and vendor partnerships.

- Security & Compliance: Drive platform security standards, data governance models, and strict adherence to enterprise architecture and cybersecurity requirements.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline (Master’s Degree is an added advantage).

- Minimum of two (2) relevant professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, ITIL v4, Enterprise Architecture, Data/Integration Engineering, Cloud Computing, or Platform Operations).

Experience & Technical Competencies

- Minimum of 10 years of experience designing and managing enterprise data platforms, data engineering solutions, and integration architectures, with at least 5 years in a senior technical leadership role within central banking, financial services, government, telecommunications, or regulatory institutions.

- Demonstrated history leading data engineering, platform administration, and integration functions (ETL/ELT development, pipeline orchestration) using tools like Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, or Databricks.

- Extensive expertise in enterprise integration frameworks (Oracle SOA Suite, WebLogic, ESB, API-led design, microservices, event-driven architectures) and enterprise-scale data ecosystems involving Oracle Databases and cloud/hybrid infrastructure.
