Group Corporate Communications & Marketing Officer developing and executing corporate communications and marketing strategies, requiring a Degree in Communications or Marketing with experience in corporate communications, in a corporate environment, on-site role.

Job Purpose

  • To lead Safer Power Group’s corporate communications, marketing, brand and stakeholder engagement strategy, with the objective of strengthening the Group’s reputation, increasing market visibility and directly supporting business growth across Africa.

Key Responsibilities

Group Marketing & Brand

  • Develop and implement the Group marketing strategy.
  • Strengthen and manage the Safer Power Group brand.
  • Ensure consistent brand positioning across all markets and business units.
  • Develop market and customer segmentation strategies.
  • Identify new markets and growth opportunities.
  • Develop annual marketing plans and budgets.

Commercial Marketing

  • Develop marketing strategies that support revenue growth.
  • Generate qualified leads for the business development and sales teams.
  • Support strategic account acquisition and retention.
  • Develop sector-specific marketing campaigns.
  • Support cross-selling of Group products and services.
  • Measure marketing ROI and commercial impact.

Corporate Communications

  • Lead Group corporate communications.
  • Manage media relations and corporate publicity.
  • Develop corporate announcements, presentations and executive communications.
  • Manage internal and external communications.
  • Lead crisis and reputation management.
  • Maintain consistent corporate messaging across the Group.

Digital Marketing

  • Lead the Group’s digital marketing strategy.
  • Manage and strengthen the corporate website and digital platforms.
  • Drive social media, content and online campaigns.
  • Improve online visibility and search performance.
  • Develop digital lead-generation programmes.
  • Monitor and report digital performance.

Renewable Energy & Industry Positioning

  • Strengthen Safer Power’s position in renewable energy and sustainable solutions.
  • Promote the Group’s EPC, electrical engineering and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Develop thought leadership in energy, engineering and sustainability.
  • Promote strategic technology partnerships and certifications.
  • Develop project case studies and technical marketing content.

Regional & Market Expansion

  • Develop marketing strategies for Kenya, Tanzania and Burundi.
  • Support entry into new African markets.
  • Conduct competitor and market analysis.
  • Identify strategic market opportunities and partnerships.
  • Develop market-entry communication and brand plans.

Stakeholder & Executive Communications

  • Support the CEO and Executive Management on strategic communications.
  • Manage key corporate and stakeholder communications.
  • Build relationships with government, regulators, investors, partners and industry associations.
  • Position senior executives as industry thought leaders.
  • Coordinate strategic events, conferences and exhibitions.

Team & Budget Management

  • Build and lead a high-performing marketing and communications team.
  • Manage the Group marketing and communications budget.
  • Manage external agencies and service providers.
  • Establish policies, processes and performance standards.
  • Develop team capabilities and accountability.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  • Revenue Growth & Marketing Contribution: Computation of revenue generated through the marketing activities thus ensuring that a minimum ROI of 3:1 is achieved.
  • Brand Growth & Market Positioning: Increase Safer Power Group’s brand awareness, credibility and market positioning by achieving a minimum 20% year-on-year improvement in agreed brand-awareness measures and maintaining at least 90% compliance with Group brand standards across all markets and business units.
  • Digital Marketing & Lead Generation: Increase qualified digital traffic and marketing-generated leads by at least 30% year-on-year while achieving agreed digital conversion and ROI targets.
  • Corporate Communications & Reputation: Strengthen Safer Power Group’s corporate reputation by securing at least 24 quality media placements and six executive thought-leadership opportunities annually, while maintaining a minimum 70% positive/neutral media sentiment.
  • Market Expansion & Strategic Partnerships: Support Group expansion by developing and executing market-entry marketing strategies for at least two priority African markets annually and generating a minimum of five qualified strategic partnership opportunities per year.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Engagement: Strengthen customer and stakeholder relationships by achieving a customer/stakeholder satisfaction score of at least 85% and delivering a minimum of four strategic engagement initiatives annually across priority markets.
  • Budget, Team & Execution: Deliver at least 90% of the approved annual marketing and communications plan within agreed timelines and maintain expenditure within ±5% of the approved budget while achieving at least 90% of agreed team-performance targets.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
  • Master’s degree or relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
  • 8–12 years’ relevant professional experience.
  • At least 3–5 years in a senior marketing, communications or corporate affairs leadership role.
  • Proven experience in B2B marketing and commercial growth.
  • Experience in renewable energy, engineering, manufacturing, EPC, infrastructure or related sectors is highly desirable.
