Group Account Director

Role Description: The Group Account Director is a full-time, hybrid leadership role based in the City of Cape Town, responsible for overseeing key client relationships and account teams. This role leads strategic planning for multiple accounts, translating client business objectives into integrated creative and digital solutions. The group account director manages day-to-day client communication, ensures projects are delivered on time and within budget, and drives account growth through new opportunities and upselling. Responsibilities include guiding account managers, coordinating with creative and production teams, monitoring campaign performance, and presenting insights and recommendations to clients. The role also involves contributing to new business pitches, refining internal processes, and nurturing a collaborative, high-performance team culture. Qualifications: Strong account management skills, including client relationship building, strategic oversight, and the ability to manage multiple accounts concurrently.Proven team management and team leadership abilities to mentor, motivate, and develop account teams in a fast-paced agency environment.Demonstrated sales skills, with experience in identifying growth opportunities, developing proposals, and securing new or expanded business.Effective project management capabilities, including planning, scheduling, resource coordination, and risk management across complex campaigns.Extensive experience in a creative, digital, or integrated advertising agency, preferably in a senior account leadership role.Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior client stakeholders.Strong analytical and commercial acumen, including budget management, forecasting, and performance reporting.Relevant tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, business, or a related field is preferred.
