The role involves performing routine landscaping and maintenance tasks, operating basic gardening equipment, and ensuring that the external environment remains clean, safe, and welcoming to guests and visitors.KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMaintain the cleanliness, neatness, and overall presentation of the hotel and apartment grounds.Mow lawns, trim hedges, rake leaves, and remove moss and debris.Water plants, fertilise turf, reseed, and patch lawns as required.Plant and maintain grass, ground cover, flowers, and other vegetation.Perform light landscaping and routine outdoor maintenance tasks.Clean and maintain walkways, removing dirt, debris, moss, and cobwebs to ensure safety and accessibility.Inspect and maintain carports, fences, and other outdoor structures.Ensure that tools, machinery, and equipment used for grounds maintenance are properly maintained and in good working condition.Collect and dispose of rubbish, including cigarette butts, from the grounds.Respond politely and courteously to guest requests, enquiries, and concerns, referring issues to the appropriate personnel when necessary.Assist colleagues and other departments to support the efficient operation of the guest apartments.Work across different sites as assigned.KEY REQUIREMENTSAcademic Qualifications and ExperienceApplicants must possess the following:A minimum of Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or equivalent.Previous experience in groundskeeping, gardening, landscaping, or general maintenance will be an added advantage.Ability to operate basic landscaping and gardening equipment.Practical knowledge of lawn care, plant maintenance, and general outdoor upkeep.PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND SKILLSThe ideal candidate should demonstrate:Good physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labour.Ability to lift and carry heavy loads.Physical ability to climb, crouch, bend, and use ladders when required.Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Willingness to work across different sites as assigned.Must be based in Blantyre, Malawi.HOW TO APPLYInterested candidates should submit the following documents:An updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).A cover letter outlining their suitability for the position.Applications should be submitted by email or physically delivered to:Email: careers@adconsult-hr.comPhysical Address:Room 10, Wisdom HouseKanjedza RoundaboutBlantyre, MalawiClosing Date: Friday, 13th November, 2026Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
