POSITIONGeneral InvestigatorDEPARTMENTSecurity and Human RightsLOCATIONGeita Gold Mine, TanzaniaEMPLOYMENT STATUSFull Time OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE Manage investigations of cases and incidents and gather information to assist in mitigating security risks and threats to the business. Support crime prevention through proper investigation of cases and security incidents in line with security and company standards. Conduct security audits of systems and processes, identify vulnerabilities, recommend corrective actions to protect company assets, and follow up police and court cases. Manage subordinates and ensure GGML and contractor incident cases under investigation are finalised in a timely manner. ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES Investigate security-related crimes and incidents including misconduct, theft, fraud and gold-related cases, and gather relevant information and evidence. Prepare dockets and charge sheets, maintain the case register, and ensure third-party incidents are investigated and properly documented for future use. Represent and manage material evidence and witnesses in disciplinary hearings, labour matters and criminal cases before relevant courts. Liaise with Police, Government Officials and internal stakeholders, attend after-hour investigations, and provide timely and accurate incident updates. Conduct risk assessments, support security audits, maintain compliance with VPSHR, company procedures, legal requirements and assurance standards, and enforce actions to prevent human rights violations. Develop informer networks, support financial investigations through collaboration with Finance, and supervise and manage team members. ROLE REQUIREMENTS Education & Qualification A minimum of a certificate of security investigation and other investigation training and courses. Advanced secondary school and above. Security or military training. Clean crime records. Experience, Knowledge and Skills A minimum of 4 years' experience conducting security investigations in the mining industry and extractive sector. Experience in serious fraud and corruption investigation. Knowledge of commonly used investigation principles and techniques. Computer skills. Ability to write concise analytical investigation reports. Awareness of AGA, CARO and GGML Security Management Frameworks. Ability to apply SEMS, AuRisk and other business systems. Knowledge of current investigation techniques, methodologies and root cause analysis frameworks. Ability to work without close supervision. Ability to supervise subordinates and resolve workplace-related conflict. Presentation skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
