Job description

Based at: 66 Roeland street, Cape Town Responsible for: Co-ordinating, printing and finishing all incoming fine art printing jobs.This includes file checking, editing, colour matching to original artworks and quality control on final printed products.Ordering and managing consumables required for production.Liaising with clients to identify their project needs.Advising on digital image files and any editing required, paper printing options, finishing, signing & packaging.Summary of job description:  The fine art printing specialist is: Responsible for managing the flow of incoming and outgoing fine art printing jobs – ensuring that deadlines are met with minimal redos (waste) and that work remains at a consistent level of high quality and fast turnaround times.Liaising directly with regular clients on a daily basis to make sure that they receive the best service, quality and an all-round enjoyable interaction with Orms.Constant communication with sales consultants to ensure that they are informed of any delays or issues with their print orders.Act as a back-up for production department team when they are absent or on leave.Generally responsible to keep operating costs to a minimum.Responsible for checking stock levels weekly and ordering necessary stock needed for production.Advising management of price changes of incoming new stock.Regular machine checks and maintenance to ensure optimal print results.Responsible for the management and organising of digital files that need to be backed up.Key performance areas: ProductivityQuality controlAdministrative dutiesMachinery maintenanceStock controlKey performance competencies:( Job skills required to perform competently in job). Requirements

Inherent/Specific requirements to do the job: At least 3 years printing and production experience.Excellent eye for colour and detail.Basic computer skills - basic Microsoft word and Excel skills, MS Office.Excellent Adobe Photoshop skills – essential.
