Among its divisions is Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Institute (MQOPCI) in Chilomoni, Blantyre – a growing Catholic educational campus spanning early years to tertiary level, including Mother Teresa Children’s Centre, St. Kizito Catholic Primary School, St Carlo Acutis Catholic High School, and St. John Paul II Catholic College.True to its mission of inclusive education, MQOPCI reserves over 22% of places for bursary students.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESProvide strategic financial leadership and direction to the organisationLead the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plansOversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reportsEnsure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirementsMaintain effective internal control systems and financial governance frameworksManage cash flow, treasury operations, and working capital requirementsCoordinate external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findingsMonitor organisational performance and provide financial analysis to support decision-makingDevelop and implement financial policies, procedures, and systemsLead, mentor, and develop the finance team to achieve high performance ### Requirements QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCESA Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.A professional accounting qualification and membership with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).A minimum of 10 years’ relevant finance and accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management position.Strong knowledge of |FRS Accounting Standards, taxation, budgeting, and financial management.Proven leadership, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.High levels of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTESExperience in strategic planning and organisational performance management.Strong business acumen and ability to influence decision-making at executive level.WE OFFERCompetitive executive compensation package.Performance-based incentives linked to growth.The opportunity to lead the finance function of a well-established, purpose-driven organisation.A high-impact leadership role with significant autonomy.HOW TO APPLYIf you are ready to provide strategic financial leadership to a purpose-driven organisation and help sustain the mission of quality, accessible education, we want to hear from you.
