Field Officer developing and managing avocado, mango and passion fruit suppliers and coordinating harvesting operations, requiring a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture or Agribusiness and minimum 2 years experience in fresh produce sourcing or agricultural extension, in a fresh produce export environment, on-site role in Embu. A leading fresh produce exporter is looking for experienced and motivated Field Officers to join its Production & Field Operations team. The company sources and exports high-quality fresh produce to international markets. A competitive package is on offer The Role As Field Officer, you will develop and manage avocado, mango and passion fruit suppliers within your assigned region, coordinating harvesting operations, promoting Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), and safeguarding traceability from farm to packhouse. ### Key Responsibilities - Identify, register and develop farmers, aggregators and farmer groups. - Assess fruit maturity, estimate volumes and submit production forecasts. - Coordinate harvesting activities to achieve production targets. - Communicate approved prices, harvesting schedules and Company requirements. - Ensure only mature, export-quality fruit is harvested from approved suppliers. - Promote compliance with quality, food safety, traceability and sustainability requirements. - Facilitate farmer training on GAP, pest and disease management, harvesting and agrochemical stewardship. - Maintain accurate PCNs, harvest records and production documentation. - Ensure every harvested lot is fully traceable. - Submit timely production, harvesting and compliance reports. - Monitor labour productivity and recommend operational improvements. - Support farms in preparing for GlobalG.A.P., Rainforest Alliance, Organic, GRASP and SMETA certification. Requirements - Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agribusiness or a related field. - Minimum 2 years’ experience in fresh produce sourcing, agricultural extension or field operations. - Experience with avocado, mango and passion fruit production/sourcing is an added advantage. - Experience with GlobalG.A.P., Rainforest Alliance, Organic, GRASP or SMETA is an added advantage. - Strong communication, farmer engagement, reporting and problem-solving skills. - High level of integrity and professionalism.
