## Job Description

The FETP Technical Officer will work closely with the I-FETP training institute and WHO India FETP secretariate under the overall leadership of Team Leader and Deputy Team Leader- NPSN, managerial oversight of NPO-Surveillance and the day-to-day supervision of EIS Coordinator.

### Education

### Essential

- A Medical Graduate

- Completed Intermediate/Advanced Field Epidemiology Training Program conducted by NCDC or NIE or WHO

- WHO only considers higher educational qualifications obtained from accredited institutions. The list

### Desirable

- Post-graduation in Community Medicine (MD)/ Public Health (MPH)/ Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health

### Experience

### Essential

- At least one years progressive experience in conducting training or workshops for public health professionals in India

- Experience of mentor or faculty for intermediate or advanced FETP

### Duties

### S/he is expected to fulfil the below, but not limited to, mentioned responsibilities

- Liaison with the training institute to draft course calendar and prepare contact sessions, including agenda, and arranging course material

- Coordinate with the mentors and FETP officers to plan the contact sessions

- Guide FETP officers in planning surveillance data analysis and system assessment based on disease/ health condition/ risk factor burden of public health importance

- Provide technical support to the I-FETP officers on their Core Activity of Learning (CAL)

- Mentor I-FETP officers related to outbreak investigations, evaluations of public health surveillance system and epidemiological studies along with the assigned primary mentors for the officers

- Review projects and work (reports, abstracts, manuscripts, scientific presentations) conducted by trainees/officers for scientific quality and facilitate administrative approval

- Review progress of the FETP trainees on their CALs and support the institute in updating the database of FETP officer projects in the learning management system.

- Coordinate and manage Weekly Afternoon Seminar (TAS) and other online training sessions

- Develop an epidemiological project plan, facilitate institutional ethical approvals, field implementation and review project report/presentation

- Support in documenting FETP guidelines, standard operating procedures, and required monthly/quarterly program reports

- Support FETP officers to ensure the acquisition of essential skills

- Conduct or assist with routine review of the program and of the work conducted by FETP trainees

- Maintain regular communication with and share feedback with WHO India and NCDC.

- Any other functions / task assigned by the Supervisor
