DTP / Artwork Operator

Job description

A well-established label printing company based on the East Rand is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented DTP / Artwork Operator to join its small, dynamic artwork team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing print-ready artwork for both digital and flexographic label production, ensuring files meet the required technical and quality standards. Key responsibilities Prepare and set up print-ready artwork for digital and flexographic production.Work with client-supplied artwork, making corrections, additions and layout adjustments.Perform typesetting, trapping, bleed and colour separations.Manage colour and ensure artwork meets print specifications.Carry out imposition, step-and-repeat and template creation for digital print jobs.Generate electronic proofs and communicate with clients for approval.Produce and check physical proofs for accuracy.Ensure all artwork is technically accurate and production-ready.Assist with design work when required.Requirements Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.Experience working on Apple Mac systems.Strong understanding of print production and digital prepress.High level of accuracy and attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple jobs and work to tight deadlines.Good organisational and communication skills.Professional, reliable and able to work effectively within a small team.Advantageous Experience with digital presses, particularly the WS 6800 Digital Indigo Press.Experience in label printing or packaging.Flexographic prepress/repro experience.This is a great opportunity for a hands-on DTP professional who enjoys a fast-paced production environment and wants to work within the specialised label printing industry.
