Job Description
The Draughtsman is responsible for preparing accurate technical drawings and plans based on specifications provided by engineers and ensure their safety, back up as required, and update the documents as per requirements. The role involves translating concepts and designs into detailed drawings used for construction, manufacturing, or production and preparing bill of materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed technical drawings, layouts, and plans using CAD software for all Engineering disciplines
- Interpret sketches, specifications, and design instructions from all Engineering disciplines
- Modify and revise drawings as per project requirements and feedback
- Ensure drawings comply with relevant standards, codes, and regulations
- Maintain organized records of drawings and revisions
- Quantity take-off and preparation of bills of quantities for project structures, machinery, and paved surfaces from working detailed drawings as directed.
- Site supervision and contractor management on a regular basis to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements as directed
- Ensure that materials delivered and used are approved and compliant with specifications
Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of proven experience as a Draughtsman or CAD Technician.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD/BricsCAD & ArchiCAD)
- Strong understanding of technical drawings and drafting standards
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
- Basic knowledge of construction, manufacturing, or engineering principles
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Time management and ability to meet deadlines
