Job description

The International Rescue Committee is recruiting a Disability and Inclusion Specialist for ReSET Pillar 1, its refugee-support programme in Uganda. Based at the Kampala Country Field Office, this full-time, in-person role leads disability and wider inclusion across targeting, cash assistance, protection, referrals and accountability. The specialist will work with consortium partners and organizations of persons with disabilities, strengthen staff capacity, review access barriers, and use monitoring evidence to adapt the programme. Field travel across refugee settlements is expected. IRC’s Workday page lists an application end date of 28 October 2026; its advert text says 29 October, so applicants should apply by the earlier date. Apply through the official IRC Workday link. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, development studies, disability studies, gender studies, public health, human rights or a related field; a master’s is an advantage. At least five years of progressive experience in disability or wider inclusion, protection or inclusive programming in humanitarian or development work. Experience mainstreaming inclusion, partnering with organizations of persons with disabilities or refugee-led groups, and strengthening staff or partner capacity. Strong knowledge of disability rights and inclusion standards, accessible data and monitoring methods, cash assistance and protection referrals. Strong written and spoken English, Microsoft Office skills, and willingness to travel frequently to field sites.
