Job summary To manufacture cosmetic and personal care products according to approved formulations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), good manufacturing practices (GMP), and company quality standards. The compounder is responsible for accurately weighing raw materials, operating mixing equipment, maintaining production records, and ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and consistently. Key responsibilities - production Manufacture cosmetic products according to approved formulations and batch sheets.Accurately weigh and measure raw materials.Operate mixing vessels, homogenisers, heating and cooling systems, and other manufacturing equipment.Monitor mixing times, temperatures, pH, viscosity, and other critical process parameters.Ensure products meet quality specifications before transferring to filling.Complete production within scheduled timelines.Key responsibilities - quality assurance Follow GMP, hygiene, and quality procedures at all times.Conduct in-process quality checks.Report any deviations, contamination risks, or equipment faults immediately.Assist with investigations into product non-conformances.Maintain accurate production and batch manufacturing recordsKey responsibilities - equipment and maintenance Clean and sanitise manufacturing equipment according to SOPs.Perform basic preventative maintenance checks.Report equipment breakdowns promptly.Ensure equipment is calibrated where applicableKey responsibilities - health and safety Comply with the occupational health and safety act and company safety procedures.Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).Handle chemicals and hazardous substances safely.Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.Key responsibilities - inventory control Verify raw materials before use.Record material usage accurately.Assist with stock counts when required.Minimise waste and report shortages.Key responsibilities - continuous improvement Suggest improvements to manufacturing processes.Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives.Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S activities where implementedKey performance indicators (KPIS) Production targets achieved.Batch accuracy.Product quality compliance.Manufacturing efficiency.Equipment downtime.Housekeeping standards.Safety compliance.Batch documentation accuracy.Waste reduction.On-time production completion.Working conditions Manufacturing environment.Exposure to chemicals, fragrances, and raw materials.Standing for extended periods.Manual lifting within company safety limits.Use of PPE at all times.Shift work and overtime may be required

Requirements
