Job description
Basic Job Summary
- The jobholder is responsible for coordinating and enhancing the learner experience in Competency-Based Education programs by providing academic guidance, supporting faculty and students, facilitating the use of technology, and ensuring rigorous monitoring and quality assurance of learner progression through competency mastery.
Duties and Responsibilities
Learner Experience and Academic Support
- Provide personalized guidance to CBE learners.
- Assisting with academic planning, progression monitoring, and overcoming barriers.
- Assess learner satisfaction and course effectiveness
- Act as the primary contact for learner inquiries and support.
- CBE Program Coordination and Curriculum Support
- Collaborate with faculty and instructional designers to ensure competencies are well-defined, accurately mapped, and appropriately assessed within curricula.
- Support curriculum review and development cycles aligned with CBE principles.
Data Analysis, Reporting, and Quality Checks
- Track and analyze learner performance and progression data to refine support strategies.
- Prepare regular reports to program leadership and contribute to continuous improvement efforts through data-driven insights.
Faculty and Learner Training and Workshops
- Develop and deliver orientations, workshops, and professional development sessions for faculty and learners on CBE methodologies, program policies, assessment techniques, and the use of technology.
- Train faculty and learners on technology tools used to track competencies and assessments.
Communications & Stakeholder Liaison
- Foster communication between students, faculty, academic units, and external partners to enhance the CBE learner experience.
- Support strategic initiatives to improve program outcomes and learner satisfaction.
Minimum Academic Qualifications
- Master’s degree in education, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Counselling, or related fields.
- Professional Qualifications / Membership to Professional Bodies/ Publication
- Relevant professional qualification and membership, where necessary
Work Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in competency-based or personalized learning environments, higher education program coordination, or student support functions.
- Strong understanding of CBE frameworks and principles.
- Experience working with learning management systems platforms, academic data management, and digital tools for competency tracking.
