Full-time role in Nairobi. Job Summary IRES is seeking an experienced Consultant Trainer – Mining Engineering to deliver technical training, professional development programmes, workshops and mining engineering consultancy assignments. ### Key Responsibilities - Design and deliver technical training programmes in mining engineering. - Develop training materials, presentations, case studies and practical exercises. - Facilitate technical workshops and professional learning sessions. - Translate technical concepts and industry practices into practical learning. - Provide technical input into training proposals, curricula and consultancy assignments. - Provide technical advisory and subject-matter expertise on mining engineering assignments. - Keep training content current with relevant technologies, standards and industry practices. - Assess participant learning and provide constructive feedback. Minimum Qualifications and Professional Experience - Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience. - Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or Mining and Mineral Engineering. - Relevant Master’s Degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing, Mine Management or a related field is an advantage. - Registered and licensed by the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK). - Current membership of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK). - Relevant professional certification in the consultant’s area of specialisation, where applicable. - Demonstrated experience in professional training, facilitation, technical presentations or knowledge transfer. Technical Competencies - Mining engineering - Mine planning and operations - Mineral extraction - Mineral processing - Mining equipment - Mine safety and risk management Training & Facilitation Experience - Experience delivering professional or technical training. - Experience facilitating workshops, seminars or professional learning sessions. - Ability to develop training materials and practical learning activities. - Training of Trainers (ToT) certification is an advantage. Key Skills and Attributes - Strong technical and analytical skills. - Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills. - Ability to simplify complex technical concepts. - Strong problem-solving skills. - Professional integrity and attention to safety. - Ability to work independently as a consultant. Consultancy Role Focus - Technical training, mining engineering, mine operations, mineral extraction and related consultancy assignments, including technical advisory and capacity-building support. Mode of Engagement - The Consultant Trainer will be engaged on a need basis for specific training and consultancy assignments.
