Job Summary

IRES is seeking an experienced Consultant Trainer – Electrical Engineering to deliver technical training, professional development programmes, workshops and electrical engineering consultancy assignments.

### Key Responsibilities

- Design and deliver technical training programmes in electrical engineering.

- Develop training materials, presentations, case studies and practical exercises.

- Facilitate technical workshops and professional learning sessions.

- Translate technical concepts and industry practices into practical learning.

- Provide technical input into training proposals, curricula and consultancy assignments.

- Provide technical advisory and subject-matter expertise on electrical engineering assignments.

- Keep training content current with relevant technologies, standards and industry practices.

- Assess participant learning and provide constructive feedback.

Minimum Qualifications and Professional Experience

- Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience.

- Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

- Relevant Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering or a related field is an advantage.

- Registered and licensed by the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).

- Current membership of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK).

- Relevant professional certification in the consultant’s area of specialisation, where applicable.

- Demonstrated experience in professional training, facilitation, technical presentations or knowledge transfer.

- Electrical power systems

- Power generation, transmission and distribution

- Power system protection and analysis

- Electrical machines and drives

- Electrical installations and building electrical services

- Instrumentation and control systems

- Power electronics

- Renewable energy and solar energy systems

- Electrical energy management and energy efficiency

- Electrical systems design and analysis

Training & Facilitation Experience

- Experience delivering professional or technical training.

- Experience facilitating workshops, seminars or professional learning sessions.

- Ability to develop training materials and practical learning activities.

- Training of Trainers (ToT) certification is an advantage.

Consultancy Role Focus

- Technical training and consultancy in electrical engineering, including power systems, electrical installations, instrumentation and control, electrical machines, renewable energy, power electronics and related electrical engineering applications.

Mode of Engagement

- The Consultant Trainer will be engaged on a need basis for specific training and consultancy assignments. The scope, duration, deliverables and professional fees will be agreed before each engagement.
